We are so excited to announce that the stunning singer-songwriter Deborah Rose is coming to Groove Tots Gigs! She had to cancel her last show due to illness but she is coming to Frome in May. Originally from Wales, Deborah Rose has sung in the company of Ralph McTell, Judy Collins, Fairport Convention and Jimmy Webb. She has performed on Terry Wogan’s Radio 2 for the 50th anniversary of late singer Eva Cassidy. Her first album, “Song be My Soul” is a collection of words set to music from Tennyson to Blake and features a Welsh Male Voice Choir. Deborah has a rare and timeless voice with a purity often likened to Sandy Denny or Joni Mitchell. She performs a wide range of Celtic music, classics, and her own self-penned songs that chronicle her travels, love of nature, and journeys of the soul. For this special occasion, Deborah will also read a collection of children’s poems by the Pre-Raphaelite writer Christina Rossetti who once lived and ran a girls school in Frome in 1853.
